Previous holder of the post, John Mangan, has taken up a new role as general manager of L’Oréal Luxe UK & Ireland.

Bianco joined L’Oréal’s Italy Luxe division in 1998, going on to hold several positions as product and marketing manager in Italy, France and Spain, as well as in Japan, where he was deputy general manager of the Shu Uemura brand.

He became part of L’Oréal’s travel-retail arm in 2014, taking up a position as general manager for Lancôme & Clarisonic in the Americas, based in Miami.

During this period, LTR said, Bianco and his team gave a new direction to Lancôme, “modernising its retail expression, enhanced a true customer-centric spirit, and put in place numerous digital innovations”.

Underlining the reasons for his appointment, LTR said that Bianco’s international experience on three continents, his wide knowledge of the beauty world and global shoppers, and his professional and personal skills, made him the outstanding individual to take over from Mangan.

LTR managing director Vincent Boinay said: “With the strong support of the talented L’Oréal Travel Retail teams, Gianguido will undoubtedly pursue the dynamism already put in place with our retail partners in Europe, Middle East, Africa and India.”
