Confectionery supplier Mars International Travel Retail (MITR) has created a new Snackbox display specifically for airlines. The boxes, which can contain any combination of miniature confectionery, single or king-size products, were designed to fit into crew trolleys and arrive filled with the carrier’s chosen configuration of Mars products.
MITR said LAN Chile is the first airline to use the Snackbox system. The carrier plans to offer the snacks free to customers with an inflight beverage. The supplier described the new system as “ideal for airlines looking for savings during the current climate or as an alternative to fresh food on shorter flights” and added that bigger clients would be able to customise the box with their own logo.
