Liquor supplier Bacardi Global Travel Retail has launched the biggest-ever travel-retail showcase for the Baron Otard cognac brand in the World Duty Free store at London Heathrow airport terminal five, supported by high-impact displays and tasting activities.
The in-store bar within the shop’s liquor area at T5 is sporting the Baron Otard branding and passengers are able to sample some of the Baron Otard cognacs available to purchase in travel-retail including Baron Otard XO Gold. Other products on display and for sale include Baron Otard VSOP, Baron Otard Extra 1795 and Baron Otard Fortis et Fidelis.
In addition to sampling the cognac neat, travellers can try Baron Sour cocktails, made by Bacardi-trained bartenders with Baron Otard VSOP, freshly-squeezed lemon juice and sugar cane, shaken and poured over ice.

World Duty Free Group UK buying manager for liquor Nigel Sandals added: “This is the first significant activation we have done with Baron Otard cognac. The focus in Heathrow T5 using the Tasting Bar and retail space available showcases the taste of the cognac and the range available in T5. The timing is perfect, as we can also leverage the Chinese New Year opportunities that exist in January and February.”
