Pernod launches luxury boutique at KLIA

Photo of martell trunkPernod Ricard Travel Retail (PRTR) has opened today a new retail store operated by DFZ under the Zon Duty Free fascia to showcase the Martell and Chivas Regal brands.

The walk-through shop features the first Martell Trunk (pictured) in Asian duty-free, a collector’s item designed by French brand Pinel & Pinel featuring the entire range of Martell cognacs. It also contains 28 montres (small 20cl cylindrical flacons) with seven examples of four unique blends made from rare eaux-de-vie, some dating back to 1927 and 1934. Each one is a tailored composition that reproduces an aromatic picture of one of the four cognac terroirs: Borderies, Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne and Fins Bois.

The trunk will be displayed for three months in the new retail space, after which a cognac discovery sensory experience will be offered to passengers. Alongside the Martell Trunk the brand also had limited editions such as Millèsime 1968, which is only available in selected travel-retail markets worldwide.

Meanwhile, Chivas Regal has opened for the first time a large retail space using its new visual identity. It uses 3D merchandising units in a bar-style format and will celebrate the launch of The Chivas Brothers’ Blend, a travel-retail exclusive and the first product launch for the brand since 2007. The complete Chivas Regal range will also be available in store.

“We are proud to extend our retail presence in KLIA, one of our key markets in Asia, and have the opportunity to showcase and share exclusive Martell and Chivas Regal experiences with travellers,” said Pernod Ricard Asia Duty Free senior brand manager Sandrine Tesniere. “Both are iconic and prestigious brands in our portfolio and we are using the new space to stage spectacular displays and product exclusivities underlining their ultra-premium credentials and standing within travel-retail.”
