Bahrain Duty Free has introduced “Shopping online”, which it claims is the first of its kind in the Middle East. Traveling customers can browse the website for products on offer at the company’s duty-free shops in the departure lounge at the Bahrain International Airport and shop online from a range of international brands. They then collect them at the time of their departure through the airport.
Purchases must be made by the customer at least five hours before their departure time.
Adel Reda, Head Of Human Resources & Marketing said: “Bahrain Duty Free always sets the wishes and requirements of its customers in mind, and endeavours towards making these wishes and requirements a reality by developing means and ways to improve the shopping facilities that are made available to its customers.”
Reports have suggested that by 2010 around 70% of total international retail trading is expected to take place over the Internet.
