Ex-Droste boss Bijma joins Elizabeth Shaw

UK confectionery manufacturer Elizabeth Shaw, best known for its Mint Crisps and Famous Names Liqueurs, has appointed former Droste commercial director Henk Bijma as director of international business development.

The appointment comes a month after the departure of Elizabeth Shaw international sales manager David Winter and a year on from the company being bought by leading Icelandic confectionery manufacturer Noi Sirius (DFNI April 15, 2006), which acquired a majority shareholding in the privately-owned, Bristol-based operation.

Managing director Malachy McReynolds told DFNI at the time: “The sale to Noi Sirius gives us the scope to build our brands more strongly in Europe … and realise our full potential.”
