DFNI publisher Raven Fox is to host the Raven Fox Charity Ball in London on March 10. The long-standing event has been a highlight of the social calendar for years, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for worthy causes. This year's event will once again offer an opportunity for the industry to live up to its deserved reputation for generosity.

The 10th annual Raven Fox Charity Ball will raise funds for the Hogar Camino de Esperanza (The Path of Hope Home), a Bogota-based charity which shelters young girls who have been victims of abuse. For security reasons the home needs to move to a new location, which will cost $100,000.

In a study by UNICEF, Colombia has about 5,000 street children. Poverty, delinquency, drug dealing, begging, prostitution and child abuse are all part of daily life. Although institutions exist for street boys, there are none that take care of little girls—until the establishment of Hogar Camino de Esperanza. The charity now looks after 15 girls, but with the right infrastructure could care for at least 30. The association provides shelter, food, medical aid, education, psychological support and, above all, love and respect.

The house they are currently in is no longer safe (as some members of the girls' families try to get them back) and is small and very cold. The girls need clothes, books, basic personal products and money for school fees.
