Zurich airport turnover lifted by strong airside sales

Year-to-date net sales show a 10.4% increase compared to last year

Airport authority Unique has reported a significant increase in sales at Zurich airport in August 2007, driven by double-digit growth in airside turnover. Total net sales in the period amounted to SFr36.4m ($30.8m), a 10.7% rise on August 2006. Airside turnover jumped by 16.9% in the period, however, compared to a 2.8% increase in landside net sales. The company’s turnover for the first eight months of the year has grown by 10.4% to SFr280.9m ($237.4m).

 

Passenger traffic has also shown an increase—the airport handled nearly 2m visitors in August, a rise of 6.3%.
