The airport’s marketing committee has decided on a 14-hour day for retail outlets

Shops at Zürich International airport will extend their opening hours following a decision by the airport’s marketing committee. The committee, which includes representatives from concessionaires as well as airport authority Unique, has recommended that shops open at 7am and close at 9pm.

Following discussions with other concessionaires, the committee has decided that initially the extension will apply only to the evening. From November 1 the core opening hours will be 8am to 9pm.

Meanwhile, the airport has noted growth in its commercial business in April, when accumulated sales figures rose by 6.3%, slightly slower than passenger growth of 6.8%. Landside growth was slower, rising by just 3.3% in April.
