Zürich airport announces good performance for February

The airport has posted a rise in commercial turnover and spend per passenger for February

Zürich airport’s duty-free, retail and food and beverage operations achieved total net sales of SFr30.2m ($24.8m) in February, a year-on-year rise of 11.5%. Airside sales for the month reached 8.3% and landside reached 14%.

Turnover per departing passenger rose 0.4% to SFr44.5 ($36.48) with the figure per departing passenger airside rising 2.6% and landside decreasing 2.5%.

For the first two months of 2007 sales rose 10.6% to SFr61.8m ($50.8m). Airside turnover also increased over the same period by 13.4% and landside was up by 7%.

During February the airport had 1.36m passengers, a rise of 11.1%. Passenger traffic for the year so far is up by 11.4% on the same period last year.
