A German man is recovering from alcohol poisoning after drinking one litre of vodka rather than have it confiscated on transfer

A German passenger nearly died yesterday after trying to find a way around having his liquids duty-free purchases confiscated. The man was on his way back from Egypt to Dresden, and was asked to hand over the bottle during his transfer through Nuremberg airport. Rather than comply he attempted to drink the whole bottle, and was promptly unable to stand up.

The 64-year old passenger is expected to be able to continue his journey within a few days, according to The Scotsman.
