The global travel-retail director will be temporarily replaced by Kevin Fong

William Grant & Sons’ global travel-retail director Ylva Persson has left the company with immediate effect. Persson has been with the independent Scotch whisky company for less than two years after replacing former, long-term global travel-retail director Bob Downing in February 2006. She was previously marketing director for Bacardi Global Brands.

Commenting on her departure, William Grant & Sons CEO Roland Van Bommel said: “I would like to thank Ylva for her contribution to the business and wish her well for the future. The company remains committed to the continued development of our brands in the global travel-retail channel and we will make a further announcement when a successor for Ylva is appointed.”

In the interim period before Persson’s replacement is found, Kevin Fong, managing director for Asia and global travel-retail, will assume her responsibilities.
