The Nuance Group is offering L'Esprit de Courvoisier for C$5,750 in its Connoisseur Shop speciality outlet at Vancouver airport
Vancouver International airport has become the only airport in
North America to offer travellers the chance to purchase L'Esprit de Courvoisier, billed as "the world's most exclusive cognac". Five bottles are available at The Nuance Group's Connoisseur Shop, each priced C$5,750 ($4,675). Only 2,000 bottles of the vintage have been produced.
L'Esprit de Courvoisier is a blend of cognacs containing vintages produced as long ago as 1803. It is housed in a hand-blown Lalique crystal decanter. The Nuance Group liquor buyer Roberto Roberti said: "Connoisseur Shop caters to travellers looking for something distinctive. We offer a number of exclusive products including Louis XIII de Rémy Martin cognac, Martell L'Or and Chivas Revolve, but L'Esprit de Courvoisier is by far the most extraordinary.
To drink this would be a once in a lifetime experience."
Vancouver Airport manager retail sales and service programmes Christopher Gilliland added: "At
Vancouver airport we are proud to offer such a unique product. It contributes to our mandate of providing the very best in an airport experience to our travellers."
Connoisseur Shop is one of 12 stores run by Nuance at
Vancouver. A tender for the airport's duty-free business has been launched (RavenFox.com June 3) and is expected to attract considerable international interest. Nuance has already confirmed it will seek to extend its contract at the location.
