World Duty Free partners British Airways in home delivery trial
The companies join forces to offer British Airways passengers a range of products from World Duty Free’s World of Whiskies stores
World Duty Free (WDF) and British Airways (BA) have announced a new home delivery service offering the carriers customers the opportunity to order whiskies from WDFs World of Whiskies stores. The trial, which starts today and will run until December, offers five whiskies through mail order, with the range displayed in BAs onboard catalogue Highlife Shop!
The onboard trial will run until December offering five exclusive lines of whisky, specifically hand-picked from the World of Whiskies stores. The whiskies, available via mail order to all British Airways customers, range in price from £110 to £349. The collection is displayed pictorially within the Highlife Shop! magazine and features detailed tasting notes for each product.
The service, which offers home delivery to UK addresses, is also available to British Airways passengers through website ba.com/giftshop. WDF head of category for liquor, food and tax-free Items Fraser Dunlop said that the range could be extended after the trial period.
WDF managing director Mark Riches said: The home delivery market is extremely significant to retailers and we are delighted to have teamed up with BA for our first venture. This service will give BA passengers the chance to sample some of the world class brands World Duty Free currently offers.
BA retail business manager Richard Cushing said: Mail order has been a great success for BA since its introduction two years ago. This opportunity to work with World Duty Free and offer our customers this prestigious collection from World of Whiskies, the specialist whisky store, extends this value added service even further.
