The company is to open a Jamal Arabia souvenir section in the new shop-in-shop at Sharjah airport

Toy and gadget specialist Wizz—the retail brand of Dubai-based Retail Concepts—has followed the opening last month of its new shop-in-shop at Sharjah International airport with a Jamal Arabia souvenir corner that is due to open this week. The concession is operated by Dufry Group.

Jamal Arabia is an Arabian gifts concept exclusive to Retail Concepts that comprises a range of products from fridge magnets and notebooks to wall prints and candles. The 15sq m (160sq ft) shop-in-shop comprises floor-to-ceiling branded display units and two gondolas offering a selection of the company’s range of novel gifts and gadgets.

Wizz managing director Nigel Caddick said: “The Sharjah Wizz outlet has performed remarkably well since it opened in May and we are delighted with the initial results. We’re pleased that Dufry has decided to extend our business by introducing our Jamal Arabia souvenirs range.”

Caddick added: “Our unique selling point is that not only do we offer exclusive products for Wizz and Jamal Arabia, but we are also able to provide an entire retail solution, from a stand-alone shop such as at Dubai Duty Free, to branded gondolas with Bahrain Duty Free, all of which are serviced by our team of skilled merchandisers.

“Everything we offer is developed and sourced by our buying teams in London and Dubai with packaging, presentation and point-of-sale material carefully designed with travel-retail in mind. We now plan to bring this expertise to airports outside the Middle East.”
