Travel-retail takes the brunt of the economic downturn as Wella sees fragrances and cosmetics sales grow in the second quarter

Wella has reported a solid second quarter to the year with total sales from its cosmetics, fragrances and haircare products reaching Eu814.2m ($925.2m), down less than 4% on the same period last year despite the troubled global economy and ?accompanying restraint in consumption?. The company made 21.5% of sales through its cosmetics and fragrances division, with sales in those categories growing 2.5% to Eu175.5m ($199.4m).
