Weitnauer earnings improve despite sales fall

12-Apr-2003

Weitnauer has announced a 35% growth in earnings before tax for 2002 despite a 7% fall in sales to SFr1.02bn ($734m)

The company attributed the sales slowdown to the disposal of its distribution and wholesale activities late last year, as well as the end of its beauty concession at Singapore, plus the strength of the Swiss franc against the dollar.
