Tax Free World Association announced today that Frederique Constant, the Geneva-based company will join the growing list of jewellers and watchmakers exhibiting at the Singapore show, opening on 21 May. Others include Tick Tack, Bonbon, Cerrito and M Frey Wien. Other new brands at the show this year include Emperor Jewellers of Australia and Sun Jewelry of Taiwan.

The trend mirrors the growth of the jewellery and watch categories, which have been among the strongest growing sectors in duty-free. Luxury goods overall have grown duty-free sales by almost 50% since 1991 and have increased their market share to 36%.

Frederique Constant duty free sales and marketing manager Bruno Dard said: "Our objective is to increase our presence in selective duty-free and travel-retail outlets throughout the Asia Pacific region. We may develop technically complicated watches in gold and platinum, but we consider that our watches should be affordable and available worldwide. This is the reason why duty-free markets are a priority."
