The WH Smith shops acquired by HDS Retail Asia Pacific in October have been rebranded as Relay and NewsLink shops
HDS Retail Asia Pacific showcased the new brand identity for the recently acquired WH Smith stores at Hong Kong International airport (HKIA) earlier this month, where eight shops have been rebranded as Relay stores and two as NewsLink units.
The revamp was marked by a book signing with former Hong Kong Governor Chris Patten for his latest book Not Quite the Diplomat: Home Truths About World Affairs. The signing took place at one of the newly-branded NewsLink stores at the landside seven departures hall of the airport.
HDS Retail Asia Pacific completed the acquisition of the A&R Whitcoulls Group travel-retail business in Hong Kong and Australia from A&R Whitcoulls Group Holdings in October. The purchase included 10 WH Smith stores at HKIA in Hong Kong and five stores in Australia. This will increase the number of shops operated by HDS Retail Asia/Pacific to 75 in the Asia/Pacific region.
