WDF to offer exclusive T5 Paddington Bear

The children’s character completes 50 years in 2008 and the celebrations include a limited edition toy

World Duty Free (WDF) is to offer a special 50th anniversary limited edition toy of children’s character Paddington Bear at London Heathrow terminal five. The bears will be numbered from one to 2008 and will be available at the largest of the seven WDF stores at T5 from March 27.

The special edition Paddington Bear sports a black duffle coat embossed with the T5 logo instead of his traditional blue jacket, and carries a brown case also bearing the new terminal’s branding.

WDF head of category for tax-free items Fraser Dunlop said: “Paddington Bear is a universally-recognised, iconic character in children’s literature, and we are delighted to offer this limited edition cuddly toy as a World Duty Free exclusive. The new Paddington Bear will be a collector’s item and at £25 is a must-have for all bear enthusiasts.”
