The retailer has created an exclusive hamper worth £5,000 to mark the opening of the store

World Duty Free (WDF) has announced the opening of a Fortnum & Mason store at London Heathrow airport terminal 5. The 1,500sq ft (139sq m) outlet is the brand’s largest airport shop and offers a range of food and drink including cheeses, fine wines, chocolates and gifts. The retailer has also created a special hamper worth £5,000 ($10,000) containing items such as tea, marmalade, caviar, champagne, chocolates and Fortnum-branded kitchen linens to mark the opening of the store.

WDF head of category for food, liquor and tax-free items Fraser Dunlop said: “With Fortnum & Mason’s luxurious food and drink array, together with the hamper which is currently on sale, the store is sure to provide a varied and extravagant experience for the passenger.”

Fortnum & Mason commercial and marketing director Alison Jordan added: “The new location will offer the same superb quality and excellent service as the Piccadilly store. We’ve chosen the range of products very carefully so customers have a true taste of Fortnum’s and the sense of Englishness the brand evokes. The store itself is designed to echo the refurbished Piccadilly flagship.”
