The new software will allow the travel retailer to improve queuing times at its 57 airport stores

UK retail operator World Duty Free (WDF) has implemented an electronic point-of-sale system to improve queuing times at is 57 airport stores, reported Computing magazine. Retail Assist’s Retail-J system—which helps to improve control of the sale of duty-free products, process multi-currency transactions and the electronic reading of boarding cards—has been rolled out to 250 tills at WDF stores after the peak Easter period.

The retailer hopes the software will improve monitoring and speed up product replenishment. WDF head of IT Adrian Frymann said the company’s goal was to play its part in reducing queuing time for customers.
