WDF appoints T5 general manager

The retailer appoints Shaw Rodrigues to a new key role as T5’s opening nears

World Duty Free (WDF) has named Shaw Rodrigues as its general manager for stores at London Heathrow terminal five, which opens later this month.
 
Rodrigues has held several management roels with WDF over 12 years, including managing WDF’s operations at Heathrow T1, T2 and T3 as well as Southampton and London Gatwick airports. He has also worked in the travel-retail industry in Mauritius and South Africa. He will manage a staff of 650 at T5.
 
World Duty Free managing director Mark Riches said: “We are delighted to have Shaw Rodrigues managing World Duty Free in T5. With his extensive knowledge of the business, we are certain he will achieve our goal of giving customers unparalleled standards of customer service.”
 
Rodrigues added: “I am absolutely thrilled to have been given the opportunity to manage T5—it is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I want to create an environment that not only beats all sales and profit targets but delivers service above and beyond the expectations of our customers. I intend to make T5’s World Duty Free stores great places to both work and shop.”
