Vinci to acquire airport services group WFS

French construction group Vinci announced yesterday it is to buy the US airport services provider Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) for $295m from US investment group Castle Harlan.

Vinci is on the acquisition trail as it seeks to become one of the world's leading airport operators and aviation service companies. The company has separately launched a $755m hostile bid for TBI, the UK airports group which controls London Luton, Belfast, Cardiff, Orlando Sanford and other airport management contracts.

WFS, based in Dallas has annual revenues of Eur400m ($364m) said Vinci and provides cargo, ground handling and other services in 96 airports throughout North America, Caribbean and Europe.
