Ferry operator Viking Line is continuing to boycott V&S spirits

Finnish ferry operator Viking Line is continuing to de-list Swedish liquor supplier V&S Group’s products. The company initially took Absolut vodka off its shelves in May last year.

Press reports have suggested that V&S’s prices may be too high since liquor taxes were lowered in Finland in early 2004. Finland reduced taxes on liquor by about 40% shortly before the country joined the EU in May that year.

Viking Line told RavenFox.com: “We have already lived for nine months without [V&S] brands. This is a result of our yearly negotiations.”

The Swedish government is expected to sell V&S this year. Absolut vodka is the world's third-biggest liquor brand.
