Vancouver International airport (YVR) has revealed a new visual identity as it prepares to open the first phase of expansion at the international terminal
Airport authority Vancouver International airport (YVR) has revealed a new visual identity to reflect the airports new facilities, west-coast style and growing reputation as a global gateway.
President and CEO Vancouver airport authority Larry Berg said: As we prepare to expand our international terminal and welcome more passengers, this new look reflects what makes our airport unique and how we are represented to the world in 2007 and beyond.
The launch of YVRs new visual identity comes as the airport prepares to open the first phase of the $420m expansion of the international terminal later this month. Like the new terminal wing, which will feature four new gates and an aquarium showcasing indigenous marine life of the Pacific west coast, the new logo provides a modern look. Key elements of the new logo include a west coast colour palette reflecting the land, sea and sky themes of the airports modern facilities and architectural design, an arc element that references flight, and a new tagline Beyond, Every Day to describe YVRs approach to its business. Designed by Hangar 18 Creative Group, the new logo will be used in everything from airport signage and uniforms, to vehicles and publications.
