Unique reports double-digit commercial revenue rise for 2006

Airport authority Unique reported commercial revenues were up by 11.6% year-on-year at Zurich airport

Commercial revenues increased by 11.6% at Zurich airport during 2006 to CHF 390.5m ($313m) year-on-year. December also ended strongly with an increase of13.7% to CHF 36.3m ($291m).

Passenger levels were also up by 7.6% to 19.2m year-on-year for 2006, and passenger number grew by 13.3% to 1.5m in December compared to the same month in 2005. Transfer passengers rose by 15.7% to 6.1m for the year to date, which the company attribute to “further strengthening of Zurich’s hub function”.
