Unique reports double-digit commercial revenue rise for 2006

Airport authority Unique reported commercial revenues were up by 11.6% year on year at Zürich airport

Commercial revenues increased by 11.6% at Zürich airport during 2006 to SFr390.5m ($315m) year on year. December also ended strongly with an increase of 13.7% to SFr36.3m ($29.3m).

Passenger levels were also up by 7.6% to 19.2m year on year for 2006, and passenger numbers grew by 13.3% to 1.5m in December compared with the same month in 2005. Transfer passenger numbers rose by 15.7% to 6.1m for the year to date, which the company attributed to “further strengthening of Zürich’s hub function”.
