The 307sq ft (28sq m) landside outlet is the company’s second retail location at an airport

Jewellery retailer Ultra Diamonds has welcomed the success of its kiosk at New York JFK International airport terminal four, which opened in July 2007. The 307sq ft (28sq m) store is located landside in the retail area known as The Shops and is the company’s second airport outlet—the first opened at Boston Logan International airport.

Ultra Diamonds senior vice-president of corporate development Michael Bagull said: “Given the terminal’s commitment to developing traffic and providing a variety of shopping options in a thriving retail environment, we knew this venture would be a win-win for all. What we didn’t know was how successful it would be—the results have exceeded all expectations.” 

“Ultra Diamonds' sophisticated and elegant build-out is a handsome complement to the quality pieces that the retailer showcases,” added Janice Holden, chief commercial officer for JFK IAT, which operates T4. “It has attracted much attention at T4. The shop’s pre-security, public area location appeals to travellers and their family and friends, who can browse and purchase the wide assortment of diamonds and other jewellery.” 

T4 serves 50 international and domestic airlines and has an annual passenger volume of about 9m passengers. It is the only terminal at JFK operated by a private, non-airline company.
