UK airports vote Alpha as best retailer

Recent developments at Birmingham and Dublin airports helped Alpha Retail win the Airport Operators Association award for Best Retailer

Alpha Retail has won the UK Airport Operators Association (AOA) award for Best Retailer after a submission focusing on its new store at Birmingham International airport. The company’s recently-opened catering concept at Dublin International airport, The Place, also formed part of the submission that found favour with the association’s 70-plus UK airports and 150 airport service providers. 

Alpha Retail received a glass trophy and permission to use the AOA Associate Award logo in their marketing campaigns and airport stores. Alpha Retail managing director Reg Curtis said: “We are delighted to receive this award and the Awards logo will be fully utilised within our business. We are committed to providing...customers with excellent choice, quality and service. This is part of our long-term strategy with many more new concepts and developments planned for next year.”

AOA deputy chairman Neil Pakey said: “Alpha Retail’s submission was a clear winner. Their new duty-free store at Birmingham is a reflection of Alpha’s dedication to meeting the needs of the travelling consumer as well as enriching the shopping experience at airports.”
