Tokyo Narita International airport will boost its retail space with a second shopping street in spring

Tokyo Narita International airport will open a new shopping mall in terminal two on April 9. The mall will house 32 shops offering luxury brands such as Gucci and Burberry.

The new retail area, named Narita 5th Avenue, will be situated in the centre of T2's third floor and will cover 2,800sq m (30,128sq ft). This will bring the total retail space at the airport to 9,800sq m (105,450sq ft). DFNI reported in June that 680sq m (7,320sq ft) of the new retail space will be allocated to duty-free stores, 900sq m (9,685sq ft) to branded boutiques and the remainder to a wide food and beverage offer.

Narita International Airport Corp opened its first duty-free shopping mall in T1 in June. The 3,500sq m (37,660sq ft) precinct is one of Japan’s largest duty-free shopping malls.
