Tobacco workshop planned for Cannes

1-Sep-2002

A special workshop on the future of duty-free tobacco takes place on Wednesday October 23 at 9.00am in the Palais des Festivals, Cannes and is open to all participants at TFWA World Exhibition

The workshop will be moderated by Duty Free Business managing editor Doug Newhouse. It will feature presentations by Keith Spinks from the International Travel Retail Confederation (ITRC) and Jon Kent from the International Association of Airport Duty Free Stores (IAADFS), the key drivers in the lobbying process.

The panel will update the trade on the latest developments in the industry's campaign against the proposed global abolition of duty-free tobacco sales. The next round of negotiations on the World Health Organisation's (WHO) proposed ban will be taking place in Geneva in the week preceding and the week of the exhibition itself.
