Aeroporti di Roma is to choose from three bidders for fashion and fine food contracts at Rome Fiumicino airport
Three retailers remain in the bidding to operate fine food and fashion concessions at Rome Fiumicino airport, Aeroporti di Roma (AdR) has told RavenFox.com.
The tender is for seven shops totalling 1,050sq m (11,298sq ft) across all terminals, and was called after the incumbent retailer The Nuance Group announced its plans to withdraw. AdR will review the current proposals and make a final decision over the coming month. It has already appointed Alpha Retail to take over six of Nuance's accessories outlets at Fiumicino.
AdR executive vice-president commercial Andrea Belardini said: "There is still a lot of interest in the second retail cluster and we are talking to three operators. We are planning to refurbish the fashion offer to make it more effective in terms of brand selection and shop layout, and this is something we are discussing with potential partners."
Belardini could not reveal which retailers are interested in the contract, but it is understood that Dufry Group has shown an interest, while Alpha may look to consolidate its new business at the airport.
