The retailer will open eight new gifts, fashion, news and convenience stores at Indianapolis International airport later this year

US retailer The Paradies Shops has been awarded a 10-year contract to operate eight stores at Indianapolis International airport’s new Midfield terminal, scheduled to open in late 2008. The $1.1bn terminal will have 60,000sq ft (5,574sq m) of retail space, 25,000sq ft (2,322sq m) of which will be located in a circular civic plaza that will link the building’s two concourses in a design created to improve passenger flow.

The retail offer will include a TravelMart news and convenience shop in the civic plaza; a Vera Bradley fashion and accessories store; a Brooks Brothers fashion outlet; two CNBC News Indianapolis convenience concepts; a Cultural Crossroads store offering gifts and souvenirs from a selection of Indiana museums; a Hoosier MarketPlace convenience outlet; and an Indiana MarketPlace souvenir and general store.

The Paradies Shops president and CEO Gregg Paradies said: “The Paradies Shops is excited to be part of the airport’s expansion plan and to continue our partnership with Indianapolis International airport. With this new contract, we look forward to providing the travelling public with more celebrated brands and exceptional customer service.”
