The travel retailer has partnered with the CC Trust Group to develop vending machine concept boxIN for “round the clock access” to up to 350 products
The Nuance Group has joined forces with CC Trust Group to introduce vending machine concept boxIN at Zurich airport in Switzerland. The automated sales terminals will allow customers 24-hour access to products, including electronics, watches, souvenirs and gifts and its introduction at Zurich marks the start of a global roll-out strategy for the initiative.
The machine covers 1sq m (11sq ft) and has space for up to 350 products and customers can pay for their purchases by credit card. The unit is designed to be a quick fix retail solution to install in congested airport areas and to use where retail space is limited, such as at small airports.
The Nuance Group Switzerland managing director Stephan Salvisberg said of the new cooperation: "We are very pleased to expand our retail offer at Zurich airport through this innovative concept. Targeting the modern traveller, boxIN perfectly complements the existing offer, especially when it comes to increasing our range at the gates.
CC Trust Group owner and president Claudio Cisullo said: "We are delighted that, in teaming up with The Nuance Group, we have found a powerful global partner with excellent connections to the worlds best-known brands who offers a very exciting shopping range at airports. boxIN will revolutionise retailing."
Unique Zurich airport head of marketing retail Patrick Graf stated: Retail space is normally very limited at airports. We are proud to implement a solution where a highly developed vending machine enhances shopping opportunities while requiring so little floor space. Furthermore, the concept allows easy and quick changes to the assortment upon consumers requests. It is an honour for Zurich airport to be chosen as the location for the pilot project of this new selling technology."
