Scotch whisky company Edrington Group is to open an office in Shanghai to oversee Asia/Pacific sales of its leading malt whisky brand The Macallan. The brand is believed to be the first Scotch whisky to open a base in China.

The brand is believed to be the first Scotch whisky to open a base in China, and the move is designed to capitalise on growing demand for malts in the vast Chinese market.
