The management of Thai Airways International is taking its inflight programme back in-house after negotiations with King Power Onboard Sales & Services failed to reach an agreement to extend the existing contract. The concessionaire will cease its contract with the airline on March 31.

Thai Airways failed to find an alternative partner despite tendering the inflight programme at the end of last year. It is understood that several leading companies did not agree to the airline's yearly minimum guarantee of $2.5m. As such, the carrier is taking the programme in-house for the next few months while it considers its options.

The airline is currently preparing the new brochure, which is expected to be launched on April 1. Inflight Sales Group Hong Kong, the exclusive distributor for several leading brands in the area, will be involved in the supply.
