Flag-carrier Thai Airways will take control of Shah Amanat airport from September 1

Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) will hand over management of Shah Amanat International airport to National flag carrier Thai Airways on September 1.

The airline signed a $9m deal with CAAB in December, and was due to begin managing the airport in February, but the takeover was delayed following requests from Bangladeshi civil aviation and tourism authorities.

This is Thai Airway's first airport management contract.
