Thai Airways International is to re-tender its onboard duty-free programme operated by King Power Onboard Sales & Services, according to local reports.

Speaking to local media, the carrier's chairman and acting president Veerapong Ramangkul said the concession fee paid by King Power Onboard Sales & Services was "too small" at Bt100m ($2.2m) a year. He also said the merchandise onboard was not attractive enough to entice passengers.

And he added that Thai Airways would open bidding for the contract to other concessionaires.
