Tenerife South tender delayed

A rare tender from Spanish airport authority AENA has been delayed while Aldeasa's potential new owner prepares its offer
Spanish airport authority AENA is to delay its long-awaited tender for the 1,110sq m (11,836sq ft) duty-paid shop at Tenerife South airport in the Canary Islands for one month.
The tender was finally called in December 2004 after several delays, and AENA asked interested parties to submit offers by March 28. However the airport authority has now announced that the closing date for bids is April 28 and that offers will be opened on May 13.
The initial delay was apparently due to a change in senior management at AENA. The reason for the further delay is unclear but a reliable source told RavenFox.com that it was possible Autogrill subsidiary Retail Airport Finance, destined to be the new owner of incumbent retailer Aldeasa, had requested an extension to ensure its bid for the contract was adequately prepared.
