Tel Aviv sportswear tender awarded

5-Apr-2002

?Tel Aviv Ben Gurion airport landlord Israel Airports Authority has awarded the sportswear concession at the location's terminal one to Sakal Mega Sports, a joint venture between Sakal Sports and Mega, a big domestic sports retailer. The contract, beginning this month, will run for the remaining time that T1 is in operation, a period of approximately 20 months.

Under long-term renovation plans at Ben Gurion, all international flights to T1 are due to be transferred to the airport's new terminal upon its completion. The tender process for retail space in the new building has been beset by delays since the financial collapse of building company Ceylan in 2000.
