Tappoo unveils Nadi renovation plans
As revealed by TRW (August 21), the company is to build on its recent involvement in redeveloping the international terminal by opening new stores and renovating existing space within the terminal
The Tappoo Group has revealed details of its retail developments at Fiji's Nadi International airport. As revealed by TRW(August 21), the company is to build on its recent involvement in redeveloping the international terminal by opening new stores and renovating existing space within the terminal.
Tappoo's main arrivals and departures stores are to be rebranded Fiji Duty Free, and the operator is currently viewing design proposals for renovating the main departures outlet. Work is scheduled for completion by mid-2004.
The company has already opened a landside news and gifts outlet, Bon Voyage, since the refurbishment, and intends to open a Fiji Market destination merchandise store facing the main departures lounge by the end of the month. The Fiji Market will also include a dedicated pearl counter and express liquor and fragrance kiosks.
Tappoo has also revealed plans for its Tappoo Village concept in the main departures area. The integrated shopping and restaurant area will offer fashion boutiques from brands such as Nike and Indian casualwear brand Saffron Soul alongside news stands and a bistro. In total the company expects to have spent around $2.6m on its airport stores by the end of the program.
Said executive chairman Kanti Tappoo: We are spending a lot of time and money to get the design right, as it is eight years since the main store was first opened and it is time to bring it back to world-leading standard. There has been an excellent response so far from customers at the Bon Voyage store."
