The Estonian ferry operator held a party on April 28 to celebrate the launch of its latest cruise vessel, the Galaxy
Baltic ferry line Tallink has unveiled its latest super-ferry, the Galaxy. The ship, which will serve the Tallinn-Helsinki route, can hold up to 3,000 passengers and features over 1,000sq m (10,760sq ft) of retail space divided into three categories. The ship was the venue for a launch party held on April 28 and attended by RavenFox.com.
A spacious, well-lit beauty area offers all leading fragrances and cosmetics brands including Christian Dior, Estée Lauder, Lancôme and Helena Rubinstein. An area for men's grooming features brands such as Clinique, Biotherm and Boss Skin. The Galaxy also features a dedicated accessories, souvenirs and gifts store.
The vessel's liquor store, meanwhile, is divided by sector and was designed by a number of Tallink's supplier partners. Bacardi Global Brands was appointed to fit out the white spirits area; William Grant & Sons designed the whiskies section; Pernod Ricard—whose Renault cognac is a strong seller on board Tallink—built the cognac area; and local supplier Liviko designed fixtures to showcase Estonian brands, of which Liviko liqueur Vana Tallinn is the biggest seller. A section devoted to Scandinavian aquavit was fitted out by Norwegian supplier Arcus, whose Linie brand is one of the region's leading local liquor products.
The liquor store is adjacent to the Galaxy's tobacco area, which was built by British-American Tobacco, and a wide selection of confectionery.
The Galaxy has been chartered for private use in the first two weeks of May, and will enter regular service later this month.
