The country’s Council of Agriculture plans to collaborate with airport duty-free stores and airlines in the project

The Council of Agriculture (COA) of Taiwan has announced a plan to market agricultural products to Chinese tourists, according to The China Post newspaper. Although details of the project are still being defined, one of the ideas is for COA to collaborate with airport duty-free shops and airlines that operate flights to China in order to launch a service enabling Chinese tourists to buy Taiwanese farm products.

At the moment, 22 varieties of fruit grown in Taiwan can be legally exported to China. Some of the top 100 agricultural products selected by COA have also been given open access to the Chinese market.
