TFWA to vote on allowing retailer members

22-Oct-2007

The association’s members are to vote on the decision at the annual general meeting later this week

The TFWA is considering whether to broaden its remit to include representation of travel retailers’ interests for the first time. The association’s members will be asked to vote on whether to allow retailers to join the association at the annual general meeting to be held in Cannes this Thursday (October 25).

Announcing the decision at the TFWA conference, president Erik Juul-Mortensen said that the move was being discussed in light of the increasing need to collaborate to stave of industry threats, specifically the liquids, aerosols and gels issue that has arisen over the past year.

Juul-Mortensen said: “This marks a turning point for the association. In the future growth will come from protecting what we have as well as looking forward.”
