The association is to propose a new fund devoted to charitable causes at its annual general meeting on Thursday (October 31)

The Tax Free World Association has announced that it is aiming to set up a charitable fund devoted to alleviating suffering around the world. TFWA vice president conferences and research Thom Rankin told delegates at the TFWA conference that the fund would not have a specific cause but would be used to provide financial aid to many different causes.

The fund, which any travel-retail company can donate to, will be administered through key trade individuals, said Rankin. The association hopes the proposal will be passed when it is put to TFWA members at their annual general meeting on Thursday (October 31).

Rankin said that more details of the fund would be revealed later in the week.
