The association is considering locations in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Singapore as its current contract comes to a close
The Tax Free World Association is holding a tender for the location of the TFWA Asia Pacific show between 2007-2009, with Singpore, Hong Kong and Shanghai all under consideration as potential destinations. TFWA CEO Andrew Ford revealed the move to end speculation as the association's three-year contract with Singapore expires after next year's show.
Ford, speaking at a breakfast workshop on the Asia/Pacific market at this week's TFWA World Exhibition, also revealed some developments for the 2006 show. He told delegates that the association was planning to hold more breakfast workshops after receiving strong feedback from last year's workshops, and said that the meetings provided a good opportunity for networking while allowing delegates to save the day time for meetings.
The show will also feature a new section called Design Studio, which will host hot products from the European high street alongside innovations from new Asian designers and brands. Fresh products targeting the duty-free market will also be on display amid "avant-garde scenography", said Ford.
