Tax Free World Association (TFWA) has unveiled details of this year's TFWA Asia Pacific conference in Singapore. The conference will be held at 9.30am on Tuesday May 16 with an additional workshop scheduled for 8am on Thursday 18.
TFWA president Erik Juul-Mortensen will open the plenary session of the conference, followed by keynote speaker Mike Moore, former prime minister of New Zealand and former director general of the World Trade Organization. Moore will deliver a speech entitled When Asia Roars, with particular emphasis on China's role in the future of the region and of the travel-retail industry.
The plenary session will be followed by three workshops: Targeting the Indian Market, Branding in China; and Seizing Opportunity in Asia's Emerging Markets. Thursday's workshop will be aimed at retailers and is entitled Retail: the Latest and Best Ideas that Work.
In a change to the format of previous years, TFWA's GATE One event will be held before the Singapore exhibition, on Monday May 15 from 9.00am to 6.00pm. A GATE One workshop and breakfast will be held on Wednesday 17.
