The management of Tax Free World Association has forged closer links with the new administration of the city of Cannes aimed at improving services during TFWE week. At a meeting last month between TFWA's Management Committee and the Cannes administration, represented by Bernard Brochand, the incoming Mayor, and David Lisnard, president of the SEMEC (which manages the Palais des Festivals), a programme of improvements was agreed to address issues of security and services in the vicinity of the Palais.

Security systems are being reviewed and several improvements to the Palais and its  surroundings are to be put in place such as installation of closed-circuit video cameras and hiring of additional police officers.

A working group has been formed to work on a long term improvement plan. Members include TFWA, the Palais management, the main city services such as hotels and cleaning, and other exhibition organisers including Reed Midem and Gartner.
