The Tax Free World Association is to consider opening an Asia office to develop its events in the region and assist the development of the Asia/Pacific trade. The move, announced following a TFWA management committee meeting last week, will be discussed over the next few months, with a view to seeking final approval in December. The committee also discussed plans for next year's TFWA Asia Pacific and Gate One events at the meeting.
Plans for the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes next month are also progressing to schedule, the Association said. It claimed that the number of pre-registered visitors for the event was in line with expectations, slightly greater than at the same stage last year.
Finally, the Association has reconfirmed its commitment to the development of the Duty Free & Travel Retail World Council. ?TFWA will be using its contacts, experience and resources over the coming months to help bring this entity to fruition,? an Association statement read.
